"language that does not have need of words, but is condensed in amniotic images, fluid, separated, abstracted..."
- Oliviero Ponte di Pino
Cristiano Carloni and Stefano Franceschetti interpret the
essence of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio's work by means of their
digital marquetry technique. The
aim is therefore not to document, but to create other objects of
contemplation.
The original music for the stage productions is created by composer
Scott Gibbons in close cooperation with Chiara Guidi. While
Genesi. From the museum of sleep
features music captured from the stage and processed alongside the
video, for the cycle of Tragedia
endogonidia Gibbons undertakes
the creation of altogether new arrangements and montages. The projected
image is not a living entity, it is a remembrance; and the sounds
which worked before in live theatre are harvested and processed
in a new direction for video.
Working in tandem with the unfolding Tragedia
endogonidia
process, by the end they will have realised (apart from C.#01 Cesena,
which was created by Romeo Castellucci) video memories of the entire
series of episodes. Since the whole series of Episodes will be screened
for C.#11 Cesena, the final episode, people can follow the development
of the process of this Tragedia; they can witness the spectacle
of the principal, major figures that keep recurring, while comparing
images or details that are distant in time, but not in concept;
the entire architectural plan that has been built will be visible;
and, finally, people will be able to sense the dramatic system that
was heralded by the Tragedia Endogonidia by establishing
a new relationship with the city and determining a new economy of
art.
Cristiano Carloni and Stefano Franceschetti studied animation and
painting at Urbino and have worked together since 1993 in the field
of electronic arts, creating videos and video installations. They
received the first prize at the Grand Prix de la Ville de Locarno
1996 (with the video Urbino memoriale) and at the Riccione
TTV Performing Arts on Screen 2002 (with the video Genesi. From
the museum of sleep based on the opera of the same name by Romeo
Castellucci).
