The Guardian
(UK):
"Scott Gibbons' music creates a sense of unease with its rumbles,
pops and screams that feels as if it is happening inside your own
head."
London International
Festival of Theatre:
"To encounter Castellucci's theatrical forms, especially as they
are inflected in the Tragedia episodes by Scott Gibbons' remarkable
electronic music processed out of the human voice, is to feel yourself
face to face with some sort of alien life form, which is, at the
same time, profoundly and frighteningly familiar."

"Imagine something which resembles madrigals for spacecrafts"
- Romeo Castellucci
Tragedia endogonidia is a research project on the future of tragedy carried out over a number of years by Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio. Each stage will end with a new form, pushing back the limits of sound and image in the act of theatre. As always with Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, the performance takes place in a space of grandiose and moving pictural beauty. From stage to stage, the project grows constantly, moving, evolving and changing like a living organism. In each place, the idea of tragedy is sown, spreading from one spectator to another. The Socìetas comes back once more to ideas which have been forgotten by and are almost dormant in, humanity. The company seems to be situated on the edge of the unmentionable. They speak to us from there. From a forgotten time, from a distant edge of the world, from a future. Calling on everyone to awaken and to dream, to join the voyage towards new emotions. It is from there that they knock at the door of intimacy and call for attention from the brain and from the flesh. Romeo Castellucci's visionary, erudite and sublime wanderings leave no-one unmoved.

Other activities surround this project:
Crescite are tendrils of thought and action that continue to extend into smaller, sometimes less formal, spaces.
Vox in Tragoedia, an open laboratory, disclosed the research process
for the Tragedia series to a small public audience.
Video Memories of each Tragedia Episode are being created by the award-winning video artists Cristiano Carloni and Stefano Franceschetti with musical arrangements by Scott Gibbons. There is also an Atlas Room; a constellation of images, sounds and reference points that have inspired Tragedia Endogonidia.
Honoured on several
occasions with the UBU award, Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio was singled
out in 2000 for the 7th Prix Europe -Nouvelles Réalités
Théâtrales
by the Union of Theatres of Europe and the European
Theatre Convention. Tragedia is their fourth production
with the music of Scott Gibbons, following Giulio Cesare,
Genesi:
from the museum of sleep, and Il
Combattimento. For the present, Gibbons continues the research
with the Socìetas in the direction of an "organic theatre" which
is constantly mutating and advancing, like an organism which explodes
out of the shell of theatre to embrace new combinations of contemporary
and classic art.
